Trip - Taishan Arrival

This morning, we packed up all our suitcases to travel to Taishan.  R's cousin rented a van, drove all the way to Guangzhou to pick us up and then drove back down to Taishan again.  It was a 2-hour ride I think?  So nice of him...thank you!

We spent 4 days in Jiangmen, Taishan.  When we arrived, we first had lunch at a seafood restaurant.  After that, we checked into the Skymall Hotel.  We reserved 2 units, one with 2-bedrooms as well as a regular hotel room.  The inlaws, Rich and Josh stayed in the 2-bedroom suite, while the girls and I stayed in the other room.  The 2-bedroom suite was HUGE with 2 levels.  There were 2 large bedrooms with 2 washrooms upstairs and on the bottom floor was a living area and another washroom. We had to corner off the staircase area so that Mr. daidai doesn't jump off.

There weren't many tourist attractions in Taishan per se so we had a few leisure days walking around the hotel, shopping and visiting the different villages.
There was a bubble tea stand as soon as we walked out of our hotel and it cost $7RMB each ($1.20 Cdn).  So cheap!  We had a bubble tea every day.

Just 5 minutes walk away was a tourist area with a long strip of shops.  Because we were going to have dinner with the extended Wong family relatives, we wandered just a little and rested at the hotel until dinner time.  Daidai had fun running around with his buddy cousin, a year older than him.
