At 39 weeks and still very pregnant

Currently 39 weeks and 2 days. 

I just had my weekly check up at the docs office and was told I'm already 5cm dilated (!) and was told to head over the hospital tonight.  I can't be walking around so dilated, in case my water breaks and I'll have the baby on the street.  So excited to see the new baby... 

But the excitement leads to disappointment.  The doc at the hospital found that I was only 1cm dilated (contrary to what my GP said) and that they could not break my waters... so I was discharged.  The waiting continues...

At 37 weeks...

At 28 Weeks Pregos

I haven't taken any pics of my baby bump for this pregnancy...probably because I looked like I was 5 months pregnant when I was only 1 month.  The belly just wasn't cooperating and there was no hiding it.  

Here I am, at 28 weeks now.  For some reason, the bump in the pic looks smaller than in real life.  I swear, it's huge!  I'm measuring 6 weeks larger than where I am supposed to be.  I'll update every 4 weeks and see how large it gets near the end.

Funny Julia - has "dai dai"

This evening after giving Jules her shower, I put cream on her and put her clothes on.  I then start putting some cream on my big belly, to prevent those awful lines from forming.  I look at Jules and told her that I'm putting cream on "dai dai", little brother.  Jules squirts some cream on my belly and helps me with this chore.

After it was done, she proceeds to squeeze some more cream on her hand and then puts it on her own belly, saying "gno yau siu siu dai dai" - meaning I have a little dai dai too!

Funny girl.  I guess she thinks that "dai dai" means a big belly.  She has only a tiny belly.

Baby #2 Belly pics

I've just taken my third picture of my belly in this pregnancy. Big difference in the 3 pics, considering they are about 10 weeks apart each (2.5 months apart).

When I was pregnant the first time around, I used to spend hours and hours on the internet, searching for information about the fetus, how it is growing each week, things that I should worry about. I used to take monthly pics of my belly, showing how the baby bump grew slowly. But not this time. For some reason, it always feels like there is no time.

When I was working full-time, by the time we put Jasmine to sleep, it's already 8:30pm. Then we eat dinner, relax a bit before taking a shower and off to bed we go. So we end up getting maybe 3 hours to relax at night? Maybe I'm just using that as an excuse.

Here is a comparison pic of my first pregnancy when I was 36 weeks and now, when I am 38 weeks. See all those stretch marks I have now? So sad. I must be doing something wrong, as I didn't have any stretch marks the first time around. Or maybe my skin is protesting and doesn't want to stretch like that again?
