22 Months - Josh

The big 22 months!  Daidai's growing to be such a smiley boy.  It's sad to see all his chubby legs and arms go but that just means he is growing taller (and soon I won't have to carry him around as much).

It was so hot today, that we had to bring up the air conditioner.  He's a smart boy, standing right in front of it to cool off.

On the speech front, he's still not talking much.  He's currently seeing a speech therapist weekly, to encourage him to express himself more.  He usually pulls on my clothes for attention and points to what he wants.  Will update more later.

Disney Shirts - with Autographs

I love looking at these 2 shirts, as it brings back to mind the fun Disneyland trip we had.  I made 2 shirts for Disney characters to sign autographs if we bumped into them.  By chance, we saw 11 Disney characters at the parks!

- Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse
- Donald Duck, Daisy Duck
- Goofy, Pluto
- Elsa, Anna, Olaf
- Buzz Lightyear, Jessie

We did not schedule time to go to Meet and Greets for the characters so we were lucky.  We just so happened to walk by and there they were.  The longest we had to wait was 30 minutes.

We only have 9 signatures though, since Olaf and Buzz Lightyear do not sign signatures.  Olaf draws a picture and I wasn't sure what he would draw so I didn't bother with it.  And we didn't even get a pic with Buzz, as it was Jessie's turn in the spotlight.  Oh well.  Here are the shirts:

Hard Work Pays Off

Jas really enjoys going to both Mandarin and Cantonse school each week; the homework - not so much.  But when the time comes, she stays up late to memorize all the characters (learning the last minute cramming lesson) and she does pretty well.  At Pui Ying school, she won the first place trophy again this year.  Below are pics from the ceremony:

Preschool Graduation (video)

Our little Muimui is all grown up.  She just graduated from preschool!  Way to go!  She's excited to be moving onto the same school as her big sister next year.  Here's a video of Muimui getting her graduation certificate:

LA Trip - Universal Studios

This is our 4th day of our LA trip and we visited Universal Studios (June 3).  Driving distance was close but it took almost 1.5 hours to get there due to traffic.  It was sorta raining in the morning so we opted to pay the $25 for closer parking.  It was worth the upgrade as we didn't have any umbrellas or rain clothing, and it was a 5 minute walk to the front of the gates.

While researching, someone recommended to do all the rides on the lower level first and then do the rides on the top level, so that is what we did.  We managed to do all the rides in 6 hours.  Yay.  We found the rides to be really different from the Disneyland ones.  The rides here were animated type rides, where you sat in the same room and were jiggled around.  Different but still good.

The entire time we were there, we tried to look for food...but alot of the stands were closed!  Something about the electricity been shut off.  Oh well.  We ate a big meal after we left the park.  All in all, it was fun.

LA Trip - San Diego Sea World

We visited the San Deigo Sea World today (June 2), for a change of pace.  We woke up super late, had breakfast and slowly made our way down to San Diego, a good 2 hour drive.  Our GPS kept on taking us onto the toll highways so we wasted a bit of time navigating to non-toll highways.  By the time we got to San Diego, it was already 2pm...oops. Probably should have left earlier to make better use of our time.

This park had lots of animal type stuff to see and was more intimate in terms of size.  The park wasn't busy so we practically walked onto all the attractions.  We were able to "pet" cleaner fish, bamboo sharks and bat rays in the hands-on tide pools.

Funny story - Muimui was walking past the flamingo area.  She was walking very slowly.  Richard told her that if she doesn't walk faster, the flamingo will poop on her.  Her response:  flamingos can't fly so that won't happen.  And next thing you know, a bird flies by and poops on her right hand...

LA Trip - California Adventure

Today is the 2nd day of our trip (June 1) and we visited California Adventure, the other Disney park.  We took it easy today, since our feet were sore from all the walking around at Disneyland the first day.

We got there around 10am and as soon as we walked in, we saw Mickey Mouse having a Meet and Greet session!  Yes!  We stood in line for only 10 minutes and got our first Disney character photo and autograph.  Yay!  As the day went by, we found several Disney Meet and Greet sessions.  I'll post the Disney character photos in a separate post.

California Adventure felt like a larger park than Disneyland although with fewer rides.  So that meant that the walk between the rides were longer...more walking.  We only finished half the park today and watched the 9pm World of Color show at the end of the night.  Here are some of the pics we took, including the ride shots (click to enlarge):
