What a relief. Finally, after 2 open houses and 3 accepted offers, we finally sold the house. It's official. The certified bank draft came in today. The house sold for $842,500.
It's unfortunate what happened to our 1st offer, where the appraiser Sean Dukes messed up his information while doing our assessment (appraised much less than the house was worth). By the time he corrected our house appraisal, the buyers had walked away from the deal.
As for the 2nd offer, the house inspector scared the buyers off by informing that the house has some settling. Of course, this is a 29-year old house and there is bound to be some house settling. It is normal and doesn't affect the safety of the house. Nevertheless, the buyers decided that it wasn't worth the accepted offer price and walked.
Finally, the 3rd offer is actually from the same people as the 2nd offer. They decided they still wanted to buy the house but at a considerably lower price. Seeing how the housing market is doing, the inlaws wanted to sell the house regardless of the price, so we took the no-subjects offer.
What a relief. Now we can concentrate on unpacking and decorating our new home.

Chiropractor Visit
I've been having back/neck/hip pains for the past little while and decided it was time to have it looked at. My coworker recommended this doctor who practices chinese meridian therapy. I should have seen a chiropractor but since my co-worker suggested this doctor, I gave him a try. My body was first assessed, and then he drew out a picture of what my bones felt like.
I received treatment that day, spent 20 minutes pushing and cracking my bones in place. Painful. I was in tears. After the session though, my back felt tingly. The pain in my neck was gone but my back was sore, probably from the muscles around the bones that got adjusted. I'll be returning there in 3 days time (twice a week). Let's hope my bones remain in the proper position.

Madeline's First Birthday
It is Madeline's birthday today and we are heading over to her place for a bday bash. Here's a pic of us getting ready for the fun day ahead. We love dressing up and looking pretty. We even made a birthday card (Jas wrote the words and Julia decorated it with stickers and drawings).
At the party, there were lots of kids running around and playing in every room. There were so many toys too. After eating some lunch, all the kids sat around the table anticipating for the ice cream cake. Yum! Thanks for inviting us over; we had a great time.

Week Day Blunders
Have you had one of those weeks that just start off bad? Well, it's like that for me this week, clumsy. Here's the story:
Monday - I took Jas in for her kindergarten assessment where they asked her alphabets, numbers, reading, colors...she did well! Then, after I got home, Julia's toy was running low on batteries so I thought that changing new ones in would be a bright idea. It was until I tried charging the batteries.
I put the batteries into the charger, then plugged the charger thing into the plug. Nothing happened. I unplug and plug in again. 10 seconds later...POOF! The charger blows up. Smoke in the air. The entire room stunk. I blew up the battery charger. Great. Daddy is going to be just happy to see me today. Apparently, I plugged in the laptop adapter to the charger (20v instead of 3v) and blew it up.
Tuesday - Because I took Jas in for her school assessment yesterday, I turned off my regular alarm in the morning. I forgot to turn the alarm on last night before bed. I woke at 7:30am! I usually leave the house by 7:20am!
I jumped out of bed, put my lunch into my bag, bagged the fruit and bagged the jar of lemon juice (I had a feeling it was going to leak). Well, while sitting on the bus, I can feel my backpack (on top of legs) getting wet. Something was leaking in my bag. The jar of lemon juice. Of course, the bag that I used to bag the lemon juice had a hole in it. Life sucks...

Do We Have a Model in the Family?
The BC Cancer Agency has been working on a new rack card for sun safety in infants. While drafting up the document, different photos were used to see which looked best. I had submitted Julia's photo from Honolulu, where was wearing her uv clothing and sun hat. After alot of considering, I found out that Julia's pictures was one of the picked ones!
Our little Julia is on our infant sun rack card! Please take a peek:

Fluffy Cotton Whirlwind
It is Sunday today and we did our usual Costco groceries and fast food lunch run. We usually don't have McDonalds but decided to have it today.
It was a clear sunny day, but with some wind. After lunch as we walked out of McDonalds, the wind started to blow. There were these fluffy cotton thingys floating around in the air and some of it was twirling around on the ground. With one look at this fluff, Julia freaked out.
She suddenly started screaming "geng geng" and proceeded to run up my legs. Seriously. She climbed up my legs and refused to stand on the ground. Not sure what she is so afraid of but at the least she can tell us that she is scared. Or maybe she just wants me to carry her to the car?
