House on the MLS market

After speaking with the agent who we bought our house with, we decided to try to sell our house by owner rather than going the traditional route of selling by agent.  We found a couple of websites that offered services to list a house on the MLS at a reasonable price. We wanted to have lots of exposure on the market so that as many buyers as possible will see our house.  We went with Vancouverjustlisted.com.

After completing all the documentation for the listing, our house is listed on the MLS today.  The "for sale" sign is also on our front lawn so all the cars driving past can see it.  We've already received calls about the house, even before the listing went onto MLS.  We have a great feeling about this.  Let's hope we'll get an offer on the house soon.

Slept til Morning -

It's been an entire week of Julia waking in the middle of the night. She actually slept through til 7am this morning! Yay!  I sure hope this keeps up.

On a different note, as we all know, Julia loves eating. She can eat and eat and eat... and not know when to stop. This happened to her this evening. She ate her dinner, then when Jas was having her bedtime snack, Julia ate some crackers as well. Then some juice, then a bottle of milk. And then the big explosion... she threw up all over the couch. She did give us an indication beforehand though - by pointing at her belly and wanting to take her diaper off. I guess her belly wasn't feeling great.  At least she feels better before going to bed.

Quiet time - Dora and Winnie the Poo

Jasmine surpised me today with a colorful picture of Dora and Boots. She colored the picture all by herself. I forgot to take a picture of it.  Oops.

We find that she likes to draw and color alot nowadays, rather than her usual jumping around. Even when I pick her up at daycare, she's usually quietly sitting at a table drawing or coloring.  It's funny how kids mature in different stages. I'm looking forward to her reading books and writing stories soon.

Jas also likes to build jigsaw puzzles. Here's a pic of Jas with a Winnie the Poo puzzle:

A House - Finally!

We've been on the hunt for a new home for the past 3 years and this past weekend, we looked at open houses as usual. We finally saw a house that was perfect for our family. It had all the qualities that we wanted and what the inlaws wanted, except it was pricier than what we'd like to pay.  We put in an offer anyways and hoped for the best.

There were other offers so it ended up with a slight bidding war.  We wanted the house enough to bid higher than the asking price: $12K more actually. And at that price with no subjects, we won the bid. We finally bought a house! Now comes the real work...cleaning up the current house and putting it up for sale. Crossing my fingers everything goes smoothly in this area.

More Bad Sleep

Another bad night. Julia was awake from 2am-3:30pm. 1.5 hours seems to be her sleepy mark. Sigh. I wonder what is keeping her up? Nightmares? Does she miss Mommy too much?  Is she teething... again?

Bad Sleep Again

Strange. Julia has been a great sleeper for the longest time. But last night, she woke up in the middle of the night, screaming her head off. I picked her up and rocked her until she calmed down. It wasn't until 1.5 hours later that she went back to sleep. Let's hope this is a one time thing. So tired!

Auntie and Uncle Visits

Auntie Win, Uncle YJ and cousin Kyle came over to Vancouver to visit today. Little Kyle is getting so big!

We took out our old swing so Kyle can ride in it, but as it turned out, both the girls wanted to ride in it too! Unfortunately, Jas is too heavy now and Julia, well, she's at the top of the limit but was still able to swing in it for a bit. The kids took a group photo for the first time:

Easter Egg Hunt at Killarney

Today is Easter Friday and we decided that Jasmine is finally old enough to do an Easter egg hunt. We registered her at the Killarney Community Center for the 2-4 year old Easter egg hunt. (we didn't sign Julia up for it though because we didn't think she would understand what was going on). As it turned out, they both had a great time. There were free activities such as decorating bags, bunny ears, face painting, bouncy castle... (Julia could enjoy all of the activities for free except eating the chocolate). Here are some pics:
