Baby #2

I am happy to announce that Baby#2 is on his/her way.

Whenever we go to the park or playground, little Jasmine seems to flirt and play with the little kids, especially the younger babies. She just walks up to them and stares at them, tries to touch the hands and feet, blabbing away and sometimes scaring them. Jasmine is so outgoing. Richard and I felt that Jasmine is ready to have brother or sister to play with.

One July morning when I was already a few days late in my cycle, I took a pregnancy test right when I woke up and voila.... it was positive! I was so ecstatic that I ran out of the bathroom with the stick in my hand, ran into our bedroom where Richard was still sleeping and jumped onto the bed. I waved the stick at Richard's face and screamed, "Tweet, Tweet, look, LOOOOOOK!!!!" Rubbing his eyes, he looked at me funny. His reaction? A little smile and then blurted out "Yay". How typical of him...I'm so excited and he's just like, "yeah, ok".

I hope Jasmine will feel as happy as I am about having a little brother or sister to play with. I'm soooo excited that we have another little one coming at the end of February 2010.

So Sick

Richard has been sick over the past few days, although he didn't take any time off work. And by the time the weekend rolled around, he managed to pass his sickness to: me, Beeps and his Dad. All of us had a runny nose, fever and cough. It was terrible.

Being sick is already pretty awful, but to have Jasmine sick as well (she doesn't understand why she is feeling so crappy) so she makes everyone else around her even more miserable. Poor girl. She had a high fever on Saturday night and woke up every hour. We had to sponge her down with a wet cloth to bring her temperature down. She finally went to sleep at 3am and slept until 7am. At that time, she seemed much better.

Luckily it was a short episode of illness and everyone recovered in a day or so.

Hello? Anyone there?

Jasmine is fascinated with all electronic gadgets, just like Daddy. This includes TV, laptop, camera, phones, remotes... The other day, we saw her grab our phones off our kitchen table (yes, she is tall enough to see over the table) and start talking on the phones. Hello, hello? Anyone there?

Don't mind her pantless outfit, it was pretty hot that day.

Megan Came for a Visit

My friend Megan came by for a visit this weekend and although we couldn't play together much, it was fun. Megan is younger than me by 10 months so there are alot of toys that she can't play with yet but I bet by next summer, she will be taking everything out of my toy box! We went for a walk to the park and swung on the swings. I hope she can come over more often.

Canada Celebration

We celebrated Canada Day celebration downtown on July 1st. They were handing out free flags and pins and tatoos that day. I'm guessing we didn't go last year because Jasmine was super duper excited to play with the Canada flag!

I've always had a Canada Day hat, which I bought at the Dollar store like 10 years ago, and I couldn't convince Richard to wear it so we put it on Jasmine while she was sitting in her stroller. She didn't seem to mind.

Jasmine just loved the crowd and the music playing on stage. She was bouncing around and waving her flag to the songs. Here she is showing off her flag and the tiny flag pin on her right sleeve (click on pic to view).

We went to the children's area where they had bouncy castles, you know, the air castles and kids go inside and jump around and around. I thought it would be a cool first experience for Beeps so we waited in line for 15 minutes. When she got in, she was so scared, she just kept on hanging on the side wall of the castle. She was whining and wanted to get out ASAP! So much for that.
