Leah's Bday Bash

It was Leah's bday today and we went to the Kerrisdale community center to celebrate.  The kiddies had a fun time running around in the gym, playing ball and jumping in the boucy castle.  I can hardly ever take a good pic of Daidai nowadays; he just won't stay still.  He's always running around or purposely not looking into the camera...sigh.

Oh my goodness, the cake looked so fabulous.  I keep on staring a the cake.  YUM!  So beautiful.  But they cut it.  So I ate some.  Butterflies.  Invite me again next year please...I want more cake!  LOL.  Happy Birthday Leah!

BenBen Bday Party

We celebrated Ben Ben's bday today at the Boys and Girls Club in Burnaby.  There were several types of sports that you can play as well as video games and books.  What a great place to hang out and have a bday party.

The theme was pokemon, can you tell from the red/white/black cake pops?  Thanks for having us.

Daddy Bday and Cake

Happy Birthday dear DADDY!  With all the hospital visits and worry with little Daidai, we only had dinner and bought fresh fruit cake.  Another year older, another year wiser.

Hospital Again!

Poor Daidai, a second visit at the Children's hospital in less than 2 weeks!

I was eating a muffin in the kitchen and little Daidai came up to me to try some.  He loves to eat.  I totally wasn't thinking and gave him a couple of small tiny bites.  This muffin had nuts in it.  He immediately said he had a belly ache.  It was an immediate reaction.  Keep in mind that he was cleared of having a nut allergy by the allergist.

He was running back and forth from the kitchen to the livingroom and then back to the kitchen, still complaining he had a belly ache.  I gave him benadryl right away.  He started saying "kung kung", meaning choking so we administered the epipen.  We headed off to the Children's hospital.  Daidai was alert, not puking but major hives developing.

Same drill as last visit but this time, we were there til about 11pm, so only 4 hours.  We have an expedited request to see the allergist to get tested for nuts again.  I really do think he has a nut allergy.  No more nuts allowed in the house!  Here's daidai showing off his bright pink finger which monitored his vitals.

Losing Teeth? (video)

Little Muimui is about to lose one of her large front teeth.  It's hanging on by a tiny vessel.  She was having so much fun playing with the dangling tooth...as it didn't hurt.

Hospital Visit - Josh and Nuts

Poor daidai, had his first visit at the Children's Hospital today.  It seems he may have reacted to walnuts which the inlaws left on the table.  As we know, Josh was cleared of having a nut allergy when he was 3 so technically, he does not have a nut allergy.

Daidai broke out in full-body rashes today along with signs of difficulty breathing so I asked Lo Ye to drive him to the emergency at the Children's hospital.  I left work and went directly to the hospital to meet them.  He was wheezing pretty badly after he arrived so the nurse made me administer the epipen.

The rashes got worse as time went by.  He was scratching like mad.  His face started blowing up like a balloon, all around his eyes and forehead.  It looked terrible.  He was given several doses of benadryl and that made him take a nap.  He went to sleep and the rashes slowly calmed down after that.  So scary.

So that's another thing to test at the allergist - cat and nuts.  The doctor there made a priority appt for February.  What a relief that he is ok.

Big Girl - Tying her own hair

Our big girl, Jas is now doing her own hair now each day.  I still remember combing and putting elastics into my own hair when I was her age and it took so long to learn.  I mean, it's hard to make all the hair lumps go away so that the hair is smooth.  Keep up the great work!
