Sierra Fun Run - 5km Race

We participated in the Sierra Fun run this morning, a 5km race.  R's company was a sponsor for the event so we wanted to show our team spirit.  As it turned out, the weather was perfect and everyone had a great time.  We finished the run in 31 minutes.  At the finish line, there was music, free popcorn, fruit and drinks.

Entrance to Science World was included in the race so we walked over and had some fun afterwards.  The kids loved it.  They didn't really understand what was going on but had a fun time running around, jumping on space ships and playing in the water.  R was playing this game where you have to tap 5 lights as fast as you can, and he beat the record!  The record is now 1.9 seconds.

2nd Open House

With some advice from our listing agent, we decided to have another open house this weekend.  Kinda a last minute thing but we needed more exposure so everyone agreed to do it.  The inlaws took the kids to E's house for a few hours while R and I took on the task of being house agents again.  Let's hope we get some real interest in the house this time around.

We Have An Offer!

How exciting. We've just received our first offer on the house. Too bad the offer was a really low one though, but it's an offer regardless, which means someone wants our house! I was told that we should counter every offer, in case we are able to negotiate to close to the price we want. We should always leave the communications lines open. We will counter this offer and see where it goes.

Happy Birthday Kesler!

It was Kesler's 2nd birthday today and we all hung out at the Burnaby Central Miniature Train Park. Unfortunately, it was pouring rain though so everyone was wearing rain jackets and boots and carrying an umbrella. It was really cool. There is a train that goes thru the woods, but it's a train that you sit on top off, not inside. The kids loved it. They were talking about it waaaayyy before we went there. Chips, cheese and crackers, and ice cream cake. What more can you ask for? (sorry no pics yet so I'll have to upload when I grab them).

First Open House

We had our first open house this weekend. The inlaws took the kids to Auntie E's house for a few hours while R and I acted as agents with strangers walking around in our house. It was an interesting experience. Not bad at all. As we weren't sure what to expect, we just kind of went with whatever. People came, asked questions, commented about the house. Let's hope that a family really loves our house and puts in an offer. Cross our fingers.

Renovating Kitchen and Bathrooms

As we cleaned up the house this week to sell, we realized that our kitchen counters and cabinets look really drab.  Alot of people view the kitchen as an important part of the house so if it didn't look good, then the house probably won't sell for a good price.  We decided to get all the counters swapped to quartz and paint the cabinets.  We wanted to get new cabinets but there just isn't enough time.  Here are some before and after photos of our kitchen:

Hickory Dickory Dock - Elephant Version (video)

So, how many kids do you know cry after watching Hickory Dickory Dock? Hmmm, probably none? Well, one of mine does.

 The kids like to watch nursery rhymes before going to bed and there is this version of Hickory Dickory Dock video where Julia cries hysterically every time after watching it. In this video, an elephant goes up the clock rather than the traditional mouse. The elephant sits on the clock and breaks it. Take a look at Julia's reaction to it:
