Sledding Fun! Mommy’s Bday Cake (video)

 

I am so happy to live in beautiful Vancouver.    As with every birthday, I don’t have to work!  😁. We took the kiddies out to Kensington Park for some sledding fun.  This is the first year sledding here, as it has a fabulous hill. So glad we discovered it. 

We had a very enjoyable morning, sledding on the hill and then had Churches Chicken for lunch.  Yum. A nice family pic of the day was my bday wish for this year and I got it.  Thank you kiddies.  

Jasmine’s first Salon Experience

Jasmine has had funny, cute, curly hair for a while now.  While it is all natural and looks fine, it’s a constant struggle to keep the hair under control and look well-groomed.  She wakes up with hair all over the place, like Madusa.

Her birthday wish is to have her hair straight permed.  Today, her wish came true!

A successful first salon experience! I love how her hair is stick straight now.  All she does in the morning is brush it and she’s good to go.  👍

Fifth Year - House Anniversary

Happy 5th anniversary to living in this house!  Can't believe 5 years have gone by.  Took the photo a bit late this year (normally taken in the summer).  Kiddies are growing up so fast.

Ma Ma Bday Cake

I'm noticing a trend here, do you?  We celebrated Ma Ma's birthday with a cake at home.  We always ask the kiddies to shower before cutting the cake so that's why they are all in pajamas already.   Happy Bday Ma Ma!  And Many more!

Daidai Turns 4!

Daidai turns 4 this week and we celebrated with ice cream cake and going to Go Bananas in North Vancouver.  We didn't have a huge party this year, especially just returning from our trip.  The kids had a great time running around and going down the slides.  

PNE fun

We did our annual PNE trip today and were really interested in seeing the bug display.  Little did know, it was a street full of HUGE BUGS on display.  And they moved and made sounds.  Oh little Josh did not want to go anywhere near them so I had to stay far far behind.  The girls enjoyed it though.  

We also tried the supposedly famous pulled pork and ribs and it was really yummy, especially waiting in line for 30mins for them.  Surprisingly we found the food prices quite reasonable.  We will definitely be going to the PNE again next year.  

Vegas Baby! (video) - Long

It must have been a summer boredom thing; I started looking at trips "just in case" we wanted to go somewhere and I spotted a deal for Vegas!  I was so excited.  

I found a deal via Allegiant air for $180US/person for return flights flying out of Bellingham.  The Residence Inn Marriott Hughes Centre had nightly rates at $130 CDN (taxes in), including buffet breakfast and evening manager reception, no resort fee and free parking.  Most hotels charge extra resort fees and parking fees now.  

I purchased a groupon deal for a $40 POGO pass Las vegas which includes many attractions in the area and we visited the following places:

1) LV mini gran prix

2) Lion Habitat Ranch (retired lions live here when they are too old for shows and 1 giraffe)

2) Gameworks
3) Seaquest Interactive Aquarium, fed sting ray and birds


4) Cowabunga bay - water slides
5) Discovery children museum

6) Get Air, trampoline park

We also saw the Nathan Burton magic show, went outlet shopping and of course, the girls wanted to see Pawn Stars shop.  It was a fabulous trip.  Super duper hot though (40 deg C) so maybe next time, we will go to a cooler place in the summer months.

Canucks Event - at Thunderbird Stadium

Today we participated in the annual Canucks event which took place at Thunderbird Stadium this year.  They have different types of games that kids can play (like toss games, puzzles and really neat air bubble race) along with several bouncy castles.  They have a blast every year.
